Tacoma, Wash., is the birthplace of renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly, whose works are featured worldwide. It’s only fitting then that Hotel Murano, one of Provenance Hotels’ five artistic properties, displays glass works from Chihuly and other artists throughout the hotel, with a different theme on each floor. Working with the Tacoma Museum of Glass, the Murano offers glass-blowing exhibitions from many of the artists whose works are featured at the hotel. Groups of up to 20 can participate in the action at the Tacoma Glassblowing Studio, where participants create their glass art. The hotel can arrange a reception for multi-day events where attendees’ artwork is displayed, and voting is held for the top pieces. Guest rooms feature hand-blown glass lamps, and the international glass collection culminates in the lobby, where a trio of large glass Viking-inspired ships hangs suspended from the ceiling.
