The Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport opened in May 2010, giving Panama City and the surrounding area another value-add for planners looking to bring their meetings there. “I think we are one of the best places on the planet to hold a conference,” says Dan Rowe, president, and CEO of the Panama City CVB, citing the area’s beaches, team-building opportunities, fishing charters, and other activities as well as its quality facilities and even better accessibility due to the new airport. Southwest Airlines operates eight daily flights non-stop from Baltimore, Houston, Nashville, and Orlando, and Delta Airlines added larger aircraft to those previously serving the region.
