With 27 years of experience in sales, Chavey began her career in 1988 when she was hired at a Holiday Inn in Livonia, Michigan. Within three years, she was promoted to sales director at Holiday Inn Detroit Airport. A few years later, she and her husband made their way to New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where she served at Whitehall Hotel and Holiday Inn before moving to Arizona in 1994. Finally, in 2003, Chavey moved back to New Smyrna Beach, serving in her current role at Oceanside Inn.

Career Accomplishments

Chavey’s proven track record in the hospitality industry has made her a top-notch sales manager for many brands, including Holiday Inn, Starwood, Embassy Suites, Hilton, Country Inn, and a handful of independent properties. As a group sales manager, Chavey’s most significant accomplishment was reaching $1 million in sales at Plaza Resort and Spa in 2005, a feat only a few people have achieved in the

hotel’s history.

Chavey has been told her leadership style is challenging, which she attributes to her many peers who’ve demanded excellence in sales and professionalism. This has created an expectation from Chavey for her colleagues to excel.
