Chris Colbert, the current director of trade show sales at Cobb Travel and Tourism, has been in the field in different capacities for more than 35 years. In 1978, he became a visitor center manager with the Atlanta CVB, and 12 years later, he landed a national sales manager position, handling groups requiring up to 1,500 rooms on peak night. “During my tenure at ACVB, I have had the great fortune to learn from many industry icons and work on numerous projects from hosting the National Tour Association, democratic and republican conventions, and the 1996 Olympic bid committee.” He says receiving the ACVB Employee of the Year award from his peers was a prestigious honor and will always be a recognition he holds in high esteem.
Colbert on the Future of Meetings
“The basic tenet of the meetings and events industry is people meeting face-to-face, which will remain significant. The evolution will undeniably be in the technology sector of the industry.”
