Site introduces new certification category

A new certification for incentive travel professionals is set to become the prerequisite for the Certified Incentive Travel Executive (CITE) program. Site Global’s Certified Incentive Specialist certification, a beginner-level program, will consist of 12 hours of education, a two-day seminar and a competency exam. Topics covered will include the fundamentals of incentives, the value chain, the composition of the market, and the makings of a program and a program budget. The introduction of the new certification is part of Site’s effort to increase the number of incentive planners, according to Site’s spokesperson Julie Johnson. “It was designed for all facets of our membership,” she says, “but we are really hoping to attract more corporate and end-users, as well as young professionals who are new to the industry or have less than 10 years of industry experience.” Two CIS sessions are scheduled for 2012: Dec. 7-8 in Chicago and Dec. 9-10 in Los Cabos, Mexico.
