NCC’s Creative Stand

The National Conference Center jumped into the politically charged fray surrounding the GSA brouhaha this summer with advertisements in The Washington Post and other media outlets calling for “long-term solutions, not shortsighted reactions.” In its initial ad campaign “An Open Letter about GSA Spending,” NCC General Manager Kurt Krause said, “Such dramatic cutbacks also adversely affect employment in the travel and meetings industries, resulting in a negative impact on our economy.”

The advertisement also made a case for the NCC as a budget-friendly meeting facility where “meeting planners can be confident this is a purchase that won’t be scrutinized.” A subsequent advertisement declared, “An Open Letter about GSA Spending” It touted the response to NCC’s print and broadcast ads that brought not only support, but more business to the Washington, D.C.-area conference center.
